Clinical podiatry focuses on the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of foot and lower limb conditions that affect comfort, mobility, and long-term health. Where as leisure and lifestyle foot care supports comfort, appearance, and performance for those who are active or wish to maintain their feet in excellent condition.     Ageing Feet

    With age, skin becomes thinner and less elastic, joints may show signs of wear and tear, and healing often slows. Support is available to reduce discomfort, maintain mobility, and promote quality of life. This may include nail care, exercises to improve muscle tone and circulation, protective padding, and advice on appropriate footwear.

    Athlete’s Foot

    Athlete’s Foot (Tinea Pedis) is a common fungal infection affecting the skin and nails. Symptoms include redness, cracking, peeling, blistering, unpleasant odour, itching or burning, and nail discolouration. Professional treatment can help eradicate infection and prevent recurrence.

    Corns & Callus

    Corns and callus develop due to pressure and friction anywhere on the feet. Callus is an area of thickened skin; excessive pressure can lead to a corn. Causes include footwear, bone prominence, or walking patterns. Treatment involves reducing hard skin, removing corns, and addressing the underlying cause.

    Diabetic Feet & Ongoing Care

    Diabetes can affect circulation and nerve supply to the feet, leading to delayed healing, reduced sensation, and a risk of injury without awareness. Some individuals develop painful peripheral neuropathy. Regular diabetic foot assessments and ongoing treatment by a qualified podiatrist help maintain foot health and reduce the risk of complications.

    Ingrown Toenails

    Ingrown toenails occur when a nail edge pierces the surrounding skin—most commonly affecting the big toe. Causes include trauma, inappropriate footwear, and incorrect nail cutting. Treatment depends on severity and may range from conservative care to nail surgery in recurrent cases.

    Managing Deformity

    Foot shape often changes with age, leading to discomfort and, if untreated, potential ulceration. Common deformities such as bunions and hammer toes may be hereditary and worsened by footwear.   • Your initial consultation lasts up to 45 minutes and includes a full assessment of your feet, a review of your medical history, and a discussion of your individual needs. Where appropriate, treatment will begin during this visit, and a personalised care plan will be agreed with you.

  • Please bring details of any current medication, relevant medical information, and footwear you wear regularly. This helps ensure an accurate assessment and the best possible treatment plan.

  • Yes. Home visits are available in Romsey, Wellow, and surrounding areas, providing professional podiatry care in the comfort of your own home.

  • No GP referral is required to see a private podiatrist. If you are unsure about your eligibility for NHS treatment, your GP can advise you.

  • Follow-up treatments are typically 30 minutes. If further sessions or extended treatment time are required, Beverley will discuss this with you in advance.

  • The Health & Care Professions Council regulates UK health professionals to protect the public, ensuring practitioners meet standards of training, competence, and conduct. You can verify registration on the HCPC website.

  • There is no charge for cancellations made at least 24 hours in advance. Appointments cancelled with less notice may incur a fee, as the time has been reserved for you.
